How to use Squadvine: a step-by-step guide for security officers

Squadvine does two things for a security officer. It gives you one profile, the Guard Passport, that you use to apply to any company on the platform. And it pays you when people you refer are hired and work. This guide takes you from sign-up to your first payout.
The short version
- Sign up free, then complete your Guard Passport once and use it for every application.
- Share your referral link or QR code from the Invite page.
- You earn 25p for every confirmed hour your referrals work, plus £10 after their first shift.
- Add your bank details in your profile. Payouts are on the 2nd of the month once you reach £500.
What you need before you start
Have these to hand and you can finish everything in one sitting.
- Your SIA licence card: the 16-digit number, licence type and expiry date.
- Photo ID and proof of address.
- Proof of your right to work: a British or Irish passport, a Home Office share code, or an eVisa or BRP.
- Your most recent employer and dates.
- Names and email addresses for two references.
- A UK bank account in your own name, for payouts.
Set up your account
- 1
Create your free account
Sign up with your name, email and a password. If a friend invited you, use their link so you join their squad.
- 2
Complete your Guard Passport
Work through the 7 steps: personal details, sia licence, right to work, work history, references, document uploads, declaration and consent. You can save and come back. The Guard Passport guide covers each step.
- 3
Apply to companies
Open Companies and tap Apply. The company sees your completed Passport, and your applications are listed underneath with their status.
A company only sees your Passport after you apply to it. Companies run their own checks before they hire.
Build your squad
- 1
Open the Invite page
You will find your personal referral link, your code and a QR code.
- 2
Share it
Send the link on WhatsApp, or let someone scan the QR code from your phone. You can also share a card showing your squad's hours for the month.
- 3
Bring your employer
The Invite page also has a link for inviting a security company to hire through the platform.
- 4
Watch My Squad
Everyone you referred directly is listed with their status and hours worked. Search or filter by status to see who needs a nudge.

Understand your earnings
You earn 25p for every confirmed hour each person you refer works, for 12 months from their first confirmed shift, plus a £10 First Shift bonus. On the Earnings page each line moves through three statuses.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pending | Your referral has worked and the company has logged the hours. |
| Confirmed | The hours are confirmed. Your commission is locked in. |
| Paid | The money has been sent to your bank account. |
The Earnings page shows your commission by month and by referral, so you can see exactly where each pound came from. The detail on what counts and when it is paid is in the referral programme terms.
Get paid
- 1
Add your bank details
Go to Profile, then Payout, and save your UK account holder name, sort code and account number. After saving, only the last digits are shown.
- 2
Reach the threshold
Payouts are made once your confirmed commission reaches £500. Smaller balances roll over to the next month.
- 3
Payout day
Payments go out on the 2nd of every month by bank transfer.
Missions and ranks
Missions give you XP for things like completing your Passport and getting your first referral hired. XP moves you up the ranks: Rookie, Team Leader, Supervisor, Commander, Elite Partner. Ranks and badges are for recognition. They do not change your commission rate.
Privacy: what your referrer sees
The person who referred you sees your name, email, Passport progress, status and hours worked. They never see your application answers, documents, bank details or right-to-work and vetting information. There is more on the trust and safety page.
